PATRONS/MATRONS OF ‘AHOA’
As at 15th June 2025, we have
confirmed/received duly completed ‘Acceptance Forms’ from Patrons/Matrons in
the following Countries:
Argentina, Bangladesh, Benin,
Boswana, Burundi, Cameroon, Central Africa Republic (CAR), Chad, Colombia,
Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Equatorial Guinea, Eswatini, Ethiopia,
Gabon, The Gambia, Germany, Ghana, Guinea Bissau, Haiti, India, Indonesia,
Jordan, Kenya, Liberia, Lesotho, Malawi, Malaysia, Mauritania, Mozambique,
Nepal, Niger, Nigeria, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, São Tomé and Príncipe,
Senegal, Sierra Leone, Slovenia, South Africa, South Sudan, Sri Lanka,
Tanzania, Togo, Uganda, USA, Yemen, Zambia, Zimbabwe.
Following requests from
members/partners for a fresh confirmation window, we shall receive missed/fresh
confirmations all through the next 7 days, till 30th June 2025.
Please, use the already
circulated/attached ‘Acceptance Form’ to submit your ‘Expressions of Interest
(EOI)'. You may also share it with others/your nominees to complete and return
by themselves, to the provided email addresses.

and ceo@afrihealthcsos.org,
as an attachment.
AHOA intends to have
Patrons/Matrons in all the Countries of the World, especially in the 120
Countries where our members currently live/work. Members are also encouraged to
nominate everyone they see as good enough to be an AHOA Patron/Matron,
including non-registered members, and non-members of AHOA. This fresh EOI
window closes on 30th June 2025.
The Afrihealth Optonet Association
(AHOA)

a global-level and community-focused Network/Think-tank of civil society
organizations (CSOs) and non-state actors (NSA) on Health, Human
Welfare/Rights, Climate Change, Biodiversity Conservation, Food Security and
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Established in 1997 and incorporated in
2003, the AHOA has teams/chapters in the FCT and 36 States of
Nigeria. With about 3,000 organizations from 120 countries as its members,
and a Google Group of over 45,000 members globally, AHOA has become a third-sector
global player, partner, project/programme developer, implementer, monitor and
reporter on the measures needed to achieve and safeguard them. AHOA’s strategic
approach to its interventions include using Partnerships and collaborations;
Advocacy, communication/media and social/resource mobilization (ACSM);
Research/evidence-generation including reviews, assessment, oversight,
conferences, seminars, symposia and workshops; Capacity Development/Training
and Organizational Strengthening; Outreaches and community engagements; and
Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E).
The Afrihealth Optonet Association
(AHOA) is committed to exploring the nexus between Health (UHC, PHC, HIV/AIDS,
Tuberculosis or TB, Malaria, Mpox, Hepatitis, NTDs, Cancers, NCDs, Vaccines,
Immunization, Vitamin/Mineral Deficiencies or Hidden Hunger, and COVID-19);
Environment/Biodiversity (Hazardous Wastes, Pesticides, Informed Consent,
Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs), Ecosystems, Renewable Energy, Energy
Efficiency, Conservation, and Climate Change; Nutrition and Food Security;
Gender, Democracy, Good Governance, and Human Rights. It is AHOA’s mandate to
promote improved/better standards of living for the disadvantaged, at-risk,
discriminated, women and girls, children/adolescents, older persons, poor,
rural, marginalized and other vulnerable populations including Youth
(particularly young women and girls), Indigenous Peoples, Persons with
albinism, orphans, widows, LGBTQIA+ individuals, Persons with disabilities, Sex
workers, Refugees or Migrants, Women living in rural or underserved areas, and
Persons living with HIV/AIDS.
Afrihealth Optonet Association
(AHOA) is:
a.
in Consultative Status at United Nations ECOSOC;
b.
accredited Observer status at UNEP/United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA);
c.
accredited to the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee (INC) to develop an
international legally binding instrument on plastic pollution;
d.
accredited to the ad hoc Open-Ended Working Group (OEWG3) on a science-policy
panel to contribute further to the sound management of chemicals, waste and to
prevent pollution;
e.
accredited at the United Nations' Office at Geneva;
f.
approved by the African Development Bank (AfDB); while
g.
its application to the UNFCCC is awaiting approval/admission.
AHOA is the lead organization and
secretariat of the African Network of Civil Society Organizations
(ANCSO) and the Global Consortium of Civil Society and Non-State Actors on
Climate Change and Conference of Parties (GCSCCC).
Who are the
Patrons/Patronesses/Matrons of AHOA:
Patrons/Patronesses/Matrons of
AHOA are persons committed to Human Welfare and Community/Population
Development, and to promoting the mandates of AHOA using their positions,
talents, treasures, time, resources, connections, etc. AHOA Patrons shall be
willing and available to promote, further, encourage, or help AHOA, AHOA’s
cause, and or AHOA’s work. Such a Patron can be of any origin/country, faith,
colour, sex, level of education, profession, business, etc., and willing to be
a furtherer and promoter of AHOA’s concerns. AHOA currently has members in
Ninety-four countries across all the continents where AHOA members currently
live and or work.

Opportunity to be considered for inclusion in AHOA official delegations to
local and international engagements/events such as visits to Presidents and
leaders of countries, United Nations agencies, multilateral institutions, etc.;
when you contribute funds, talents/skills/influence and time to the
actualization of AHOA’s delegation’s participation in the event

invited/requested

delegated by the CEO

Duties, Expectations, and Roles
of Patrons of AHOA:

Shall be persons who are committed to promoting and ensuring the availability
and accessibility of Human Welfare and Community/Population Development
interventions;

Commit to using their positions, talents, treasures, time, funds, resources,
connections, etc., in supporting and promoting the mandates, projects,
programmes, policies, activities and interventions of AHOA;

Shall be willing and available to promote, further, encourage and or help AHOA,
AHOA’s cause, and or AHOA’s work in their communities, countries and world at
large;

May be of any origin/country, faith, colour, sex, level of education,
profession, business, etc., and willing to be a furtherer and promoter of
AHOA’s concerns.
Inauguration/Installation of
AHOA’s Patrons/Patronesses/Matrons:
We plan to formally inaugurate
Patrons/Patronesses/Matrons of AHOA during Q1/2026.
